The About section tells visitors who you are as a product manager. It’s your chance to go beyond the resume. 💬

Professional summary

A concise overview of your background and what you bring to the table as a product manager. It will autofill from your resume’s professional summary, but consider tweaking it in a way that’s unique/attention grabbing for viewers.

Expertise areas

Select from predefined areas that match your product management experience:
  • Platform PM, Growth PM, AI/ML PM, Technical PM, Data PM
  • Consumer PM, B2B PM, Subscriptions/DTC, Payments
You can also add custom expertise tags for areas not in the list. This helps hiring managers quickly see what kind of PM you are.

Product philosophy

A short tagline (up to 200 characters, ideally 1–2 sentences) on how you approach building products. Think of it as your product POV in a single line, not an essay. A good philosophy line touches on one or more of:
  • How you think about building products
  • What principles guide your product decisions
  • What makes you unique as a product manager
Your product philosophy is what differentiates you from other PMs with similar titles. Use it to show how you think, not just what you’ve done. If this is new to you, check out this blog.

Customizing section titles

On your published portfolio, the philosophy section is titled “My Product Philosophy” by default. You can rename it inline by hovering over the title while viewing your live portfolio. This cannot be edited by visitors, only you (the owner). This is a great modification for the product-specific sections if your background isn’t in product management.
